Many people feel happiness through brief moments in their lives as they don’t realise that happiness is a choice and a perception. For them, happiness is feeding the ego by indulging themselves with material needs and circumstancs to keep them feeling happy.
When their fleeting happiness is achieved it is then quickly destroyed and once again they feed the ego with other things. The list keeps growing. It is never-ending. We’ve all been there, giving the ego what it wants simply distracts it for a short period – it doesn’t make us feel any superior.
Today’s society is full of insecure people who want someone else to guarantee their security with love, happiness and acceptance for example. What they don’t realise is the true power of happiness requires acceptance of yourself and the world.
By changing the way you react to unfortunate incidents or situations, you develop a spiritual acceptance of life just as it is. See yourself, your life and this world as wonderful and extremely beautiful. Be satisfied with yourself and where you are right now.
Acceptance comes from disengaging from your common emotional rollarcoaster. You must realise that you are not your emotions and you are not responsible for other people’s emotions either.
The circumstances of your life are an external manifestation of your thoughts and feelings. So when you can accept things the way they are, you are free. It is because you are not fighting with yourself. You don’t have to fight the circumstance. Instead you can work on change instead of wasting your energy on resistance.
Look at the world and be satisfied. Accept it as it is. Unconditional love is acceptance. You can never be free until you disengage from life’s minor hassels. Allow life to flow freely, don’t fight it. Just let it be.
