You have all heard about it but what is it really? Positive thinking means choosing your own thoughts that make you feel good rather than allowing circumstances, situations, people and other subjects outside of your body to control your thoughts. It is a powerful tool to have as it allows you to choose to look at life from a pleasant perspective and embracing your inner power to make the most of any circumstances.
So you may ask.. what is the purpose of it? Positive thinking is not used to fool you from the truth, but to refocus your attention on amazing truths that you may often take for granted.
It’s about changing your perception to see a different side of life. But it goes far deeper than that…When you create peace and harmony in your mind, you will find peace in your lives. Your subconscious mind will accept what you choose to believe.
How often do you catch yourself calling yourself ugly or not good enough, and how often do you receive the same compliments but choose to ignore them, disbelieve them or think they’re total rubbish? You get my point?
Too often I hear people such as my family, friends, co-workers and strangers all complain and focus on the negative attributes they seem to have. This is toxic to the human soul. It acts as an accumulation of worry, hate, stress, depression and anger and eventually exposes itself to diseases in the body. If only people realise how powerful their internal thoughts can be. Maybe then, if they realise the true power of it, they may shift their thinking patterns.
Developing positive affirmations takes practice, it’s a life long journey and commitment to ensure to reach a rich and prosperous life.
So when you get up in the morning and you think you yourself “Oh boy, I look terrible” replace it with a compliment. Start building this shift in consciousness with your everyday activities – seek beauty in a rainy day.
If you are around people you can’t stand, try and point out things you admire about them. If you are stuck in traffic and late for work, take the time to look around outside and appreciate the serenity of nature, or think of it as less time you spend at work. If you are at a restaurant and you order a dish that was distasteful, at least you can say you have tried it instead of saying “I wasted my hard earned cash on this!”. So quite simply when you move your thoughts to a new light the negative feelings must go.
Acknowledging that you are the master of your own mind and only you can control your thoughts, you have the power to create your own reality. By being spiritually aware of your thoughts, other people’s thoughts will not affect how you think and feel. A thought is only a thought and it can be changed.
You can expect changes to happens simply by seeing the brighter side to life. What is in your life right now is a reflection of your own inner thinking. Therefore, the thoughts you choose is the future you choose. Old habits can be easily broken and new patterns can be easily learnt. It just takes practice.
