This post will help you understand the human conditioning of affirmations, how to use positive affirmations, how they work and how they will help you.
To explain how affirmations work, it is necessary to understand these are only learnt through thought pattens developed through childhood through other people’s beliefs systems. Some of these work well but most are working against us creating fear from reaching our highest potential. Many of these beliefs may actually not be true or based on false invalid impressions constructed as a child.
By replacing negative affirmations and reinforcing positive affirmations you are challenging these negative beliefs by choosing self nurturing beliefs. Using positive affirmations forces us to keep focused on our inner goals and act as constant reminders to think consciously about our choice of words.
Positive affirmations will work better for you as long as you are determined to make a change and let go of your past and old ways of thinking. Reprogramming your mind will enable you to achieve the life you’ve always wanted for yourself.
You are unable to control other people’s thoughts but you can control your own thoughts. You are responsible for your own mind and how it operates. It is up to you to decide what is accepted as truth.
So how will you go about bringing positive affirmations into your life? Easy!
The most effective time to apply positive affirmations are right after waking up and before you go to sleep. During these times your brain waves are moving slowly and will be able to retain affirmations at a deeper soul level.
Writing notes and sticking it areas around your home is another effective way to reinforce these positive affirmations such as your bathroom, car, computer, mirror, and desk. The more you see them, the more effective it will be wired into your mind. The expected outcome is a change from the inside out.
Repeat, repeat, repeat your affirmations again and again out loud, internally or through recorded tape or CD’s. Also, another important fact to know is that memory is always associated with emotion. The stronger the emotion, the sharper the memory. So feel the joy, pleasure and satisfaction of the positive affirmations as though if you really do believe it.
You can create your own positive affirmations about anything in your life. Here are some examples I came up with.

I choose to be slim, fit and healthy
I am in control of my weight
In my mind I am slim, healthy and attractive
My body will soon follow my healthy thoughts
I will maintain my ideal weight

I love myself just as I am
My life is wonderful and meaningful
I am important
I am happy being me
I feel good about myself
Money
I make more than enough money easily
Large amounts of money are coming to me
Money is attracted to me like a magnet
Being Positive
I am totally positive
I am in charge of my life
I see the positive things in all situations
